Weller
M.F.A.
- Painting and Drawing, Tyler School of Art, Pennsylvania
B.F.A. - Painting, University of Illinois
Laurie
Weller teaches watercolor and printmaking courses and has been a
member of the faculty since 1988.
Weller
has collected leaves and shells from streets and beaches, from which
she did prisma color pencil drawings of these objects as reference
for future shaped supports in watercolor. The emblematic character
of the flower and shell forms which she abstracts from appear anxious
to change their shapes, or even transpose themselves from the vegetable
world into something more mechanical.
