Freshman applicants must submit ACT or SAT scores and must have
completed the following 15 secondary school units:
- four units of English;
- three of mathematics including Algebra 1 and two
additional units of mathematics;
- three units of social science (may
include history, government, geography, social studies and/or civics);
- two units of laboratory science; and
- three units of academic electives.
Transfer students must have a minimum cumulative grade point
average of 2.80, be in good standing and meet specific requirements of
the university and their major area.
An application fee of $30 is required of all new students.
Undergraduate applications for a fall semester must be received before July 15 and
for a spring semester before Dec. 1.
Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA)
Full-time or part-time students who did not earn at least three semester credit
hours prior to Fall 1989 term
(when THEA requirements went into effect) must
be tested for reading, writing and mathematics skills under the
Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA).
All students enrolling at
Texas Woman's University
who are not exempt must attempt the THEA
examination prior to attempting college work.
