The
Department of History and Government offers programs leading
to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Master of Arts
degrees with majors in either history or government; and the Bachelor
of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in criminal justice. The
criminal justice major is offered jointly by the Department of History
and Government and the Department of Sociology and Social Work.
Special emphases in government service and in legal studies are
available. Programs leading to teacher certification at various
levels are also offered. The department provides pre-law advising
for students with that interest, as well. For detailed information
