U.S. Congressman Michael C. Burgess District Office Internship Program

 

General Intern responsibilities include:

• Greeting constituents
• Answering the telephone
• Assisting with Congressional Events
• Assisting with special projects; Research
• Constituent correspondence
• Data entry 
• Filing
• Additional administrative tasks, as required

 

Skills required:

• Excellent communication
• Excellent writing skills
• Professional demeanor
• Good computer skills
• Punctuality
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to compete tasks efficiently and thoroughly
 

This internship is unpaid. Academic credit can be arranged through the University's Government/Political Science Internship Program. Non-academic interns are also available in the summer. After the successful completion of the internship, recommendations will be provided to interns, based on performance.
