Dr. Johnnie Patricia Jones Roebuck

Dr. Johnnie Roebuck earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Social Work in 1964. She later earned Master of Science in Education, Education Specialist, and doctoral degrees from universities in Arkansas. Following over 20 years as a special education teacher and administrator, Dr. Roebuck became a professor at Henderson State University where she also served as Dean of the Graduate School and Coordinator for the Program in Educational Leadership. She has extensive professional publications and has given numerous state, regional, and national presentations. Her leadership roles in both professional and community organizations are too numerous to enumerate. At Henderson State University she received three different Faculty Excellence Awards, one for research, one for teaching, and one for service. She is a graduate of Leadership America and the Arkansas Leadership Academy. She was a delegate to the Arkansas Department of Higher Education Dean’s Leadership Forum and a member of the Rotary International Group Study Exchange Team in Argentina. She is President of her own company, Managerial and Leadership Concepts. After this distinguished career as an educator, Dr. Roebuck was elected to the Arkansas State Legislature in 2006. For her legislative work she has been honored by many associations including being named as the Outstanding Legislator by The Arkansas Dental Association, the Arkansas Public Policy Foundation, the Municipal League, the Sierra Club, the Arkansas Police Benevolent Association, the Arkansas State Firefighters Association, the Arkansas Counseling Association, and Arkansas Voices for Children Left Behind. Her leadership skills are further validated by her election as the House Majority Leader in Arkansas.
