Quick Admit Fall 2012

Quick Admit Fall 2012 SemesterQuick Admit is a late admissions program for first time, transfer and graduate students. Although we try to accommodate all applicants, we cannot guarantee admission through Quick Admit. Due to the late date, certain classes may not be available to Quick Admit students this semester.

New State Mandated Immunization Requirement

Beginning Jan. 1, 2012, Texas law requires that all college students (new or transfer) must receive a vaccination or booster against bacterial meningitis ten days prior to classes beginning. The vaccine is required for students of public and private colleges, living both on and off campus. An entering student is a new student or a student who has had a break of enrollment for one or more fall or spring semesters. Transfer students are considered entering students. Students who are enrolled in online courses only or who are 30 years of age or older are exempt. For more on this requirement, please visit the Bacterial Meningitis page.

 1. Submit ApplyTexas application

Apply for admission to TWU as a Freshman, Transfer, or Graduate non-degree seeking (see below) student at least 48 hours before coming up to the campus. This will allow the Student Records department the time needed to receive your ApplyTexas application electronically.

2. Gather the required documents

First Time in College Students

Students with fewer than 12 transferable college credits must bring ALL of the following:

  • $50 Application Fee. How to Pay the Application Fee
  • Official high school transcript, in a sealed envelope from school, GED completion certificate, or home school transcript showing coursework and grades
  • ACT or SAT test scores (unless ranked in the top 25% of your graduating class within the last two years in Texas OR received HS diploma or GED more than 5 years ago)
  • Required bacterial meningitis documentation showing immunization administered between August 27, 2007 and August 17, 2012. For more detailed information on this requirement, please visit Student Health Services.
  • Permanent Resident (green) card and/or official TOEFL scores or exemption form, if needed.
  • For TSI or Accuplacer questions or to register for testing go to http://www.twu.edu/aac/tests.asp.

Transfer Students

Students with 12 or more transferable college credit hours must bring ALL of the following:

  • $50 Application Fee How to Pay the Application Fee
  • Official Transcripts, in a sealed envelope from institution, from each college and/or university attended
  • Required bacterial meningitis documentation showing immunization administered between August 27, 2007 and August 17, 2012. For more detailed information on this requirement, please visit Student Health Services
  • Permanent Resident (green) card and/or official TOEFL scores or exemption form, if needed.
  • For TSI or Accuplacer questions or to register for testing go to http://www.twu.edu/aac/tests.asp.
  • Quick Admit is for Fall 2012 applicants, nursing applicants who are applying for Fall 2012 cannot be processed during Quick Admit.

Graduate Students

During Quick Admit, graduate students may apply only as non-degree seeking. Some departments require permission to apply as non-degree seeking; check with your department to see if permission is required.  If so, a Non-Degree Approval Form must be submitted with your application.

  • Required bacterial meningitis documentation showing immunization administered between August 27, 2007 and August 17, 2012. For more detailed information on this requirement, please visit Student Health Services.
  • Permanent Resident (green) card and/or official TOEFL scores or exemption form, if needed.
  • Non-degree Permissions Form-if required by program
Please note: acceptance as a non-degree seeking student does not guarantee acceptance to the department as a degree-seeking student later. Non-degree seeking students are ineligible for financial aid.

3. Bring the required documents to campus

Bring your required documents to the TWU Denton campus, Administration Conference Tower (ACT) - 1st floor between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., August 20-24, 27-29. The Office of Admissions will assist you with your Quick Admit process.

If you CANNOT come to campus for Quick Admit, send your documents OVERNIGHT to the following address so that they arrive by 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 23rd:

If you are in the Houston area and would like to submit any application documents you can do that at the Student One Stop Office, TWU Institute of Health Science - Houston Center located at 6700 Fannin St. in the Texas Medical Center.

4. Financial Aid / Payment Info 

  • If you need immediate financial assistance to start the Fall 2012 semester, Emergency Loans may be available. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.
  • If you need financial aid for the Fall 2012 semester, you can begin the financial aid process; however financial aid will not be available at the beginning of the semester. If you are unable to assume the cost at this time, you may want to consider applying for the following semester.
  • Payment options are available. Contact the Bursar's Office for more information.
