- Brenna Tucker is the only student from the U.S. and one of only four students internationally to receive a William F. Giauque Travel Award to attend the 2010 North American Calorimetry Conference.
- Katie Schniebs was one of only 20 undergraduates in the nation to receive a 2010, $40,000 NASA Aeronautics Scholarship. She also was the first graduate of the TWU/UNT dual degree program in math and engineering.
- Doctoral student Marianne Follis was a member of the committee that selected the winner of the 2011 John Newbery Medal, the most distinguished award in children's literature.
- Sarah Sutherland was the only student from Texas and one of only 32 students in the nation to receive a National Science Foundation Scholar Grant to attend the American Chemistry Society’s 2010 Green Chemistry and Engineering Conference.
- Emma Zemler was one of 15 students selected nationally as a 2011 Texas Aerospace Scholar by NASA's Universities Space Research Association.
- Janet Aguilar was one of only 61 college students in the nation selected for the 2011 Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities National Internship Program.
- Master's student Karin Hosenfield received the 2011 Emerging Dietetic Leader Award from the Texas Dietetic Association.

Victoria Loveland, Sarah Adams and Carin Hunt Balusek were among only 44 science students nationally selected as 2010 National Consortium of Measurements and Signals Intelligence Research Scholars.

The TWU Drama Program’s original production of The Panther’s Scream and Other Texas Tales has received a rave review at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
