When I arrived at Texas Woman’s University in December 1999, I felt privileged to become a part of this wonderful institution; a decade later that feeling has only grown.
When any of us accept a position at a university, we become stewards of that university’s past with the responsibility for ensuring a strong future. Over the past decade, the faculty, staff and administration together have been tremendously successful in moving TWU forward. We have enhanced the learning environment, scholarly pursuits, fiscal vitality, community outreach and the overall reputation of this historic institution.
What follows are selected initiatives and successes. We ask you to celebrate with us the accomplishments of students, faculty, staff, administration and the institution itself. The TWU community has worked together to make 1999-2009 truly a decade of achievement.
Our future is equally as promising. We will continue to pursue opportunities for excellence. We also have chosen three initiatives to become hallmarks of our campuses and a TWU education:
- Health and Wellness
- Globalization
- Women and Business
You will see reflected here the value TWU returns to Texas and its citizens through the contributions made by the institution and by graduates who primarily remain to work and live in Texas. We are proud to share these achievements with you. Read on to find more about our decade of success and the legacy we are building together.
