Pezzimenti to feature Cuban music in TWU concert
3/28/08
DENTON — Internationally recognized guitarist Carlo Pezzimenti, an adjunct assistant professor of music at Texas Woman’s University, will perform a concert of Cuban music at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8 in TWU’s Little Chapel-in-the-Woods. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call (940) 898-2500.
The program will include music by contemporary composers Leo Brouwer and Martin Pedreira. Brouwer, principal conductor of the Cordoba Symphony in Spain, is known for film scores including “Like Water for Chocolate” and “A Walk in the Clouds.”
“The music has a very strong tropical and Caribe flavor to it,” Pezzimenti said.
