Science Seminars
The Biology
Department sponsors a weekly seminar series. All seminars
will be held in the Classroom and Faculty Offices (CFO) Building
in room 203 from 3:00-4:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
Seminars that have guest speakers or are dissertation defenses
will have refreshments at 2:45 p.m. Attend as many seminars as you
can.
January 27, 2006
The Biology Department presents guest speaker Dr. Amy Helms from
the University of Texas Southwestern. Dr. Helms' talk is
entitled "Transcriptional Control of Spinal Cord Development."
February 3, 2006
The Biology Department presents
guest speaker Dr. Robert Luedtke, professor of Pharmacology
and Neuroscience from the University of North
Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Luedtke's talk is
entitled "Molecular Mapping the D2/D3 Dopamine Receptor
Binding Site."
February 10, 2006
The Biology Department presents guest speaker Dr. Julio Herrera
from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Herrera's talk is
entitled "Transcriptional Regulation of the Stathmin Gene."
February 17, 2006
The Biology Department
presents guest speaker Dr. Reid Ferring from the University of
North Texas. Dr. Ferring's talk is entitled "African
Origins and Temperate Trials: New Data on Early Homo from
Dmanisi in the Georgian Caucasus."
February 24, 2006
The Biology Department presents guest speaker Dr. Luis Parada,
Director for the Center for Developmental Biology at the
University of Texas Southwestern.
