the Arts to present evening of entertainment April 9

DENTON —
Dinner, dancing and dessert are on the menu as Texas Woman’s
University’s Alexandria’s Ragtime Band presents
its spring concert at 7 p.m. Friday, April 9.
The coffeehouse-style
concert will take place in the Underground Café, located
in the TWU Student Union on the southwest corner of Bell Avenue
and Administration Drive. Cost of the all-you-can-eat dinner,
which includes dessert, is $6.95 plus tax. For those who want
dessert only, the cost is $3, tax included. For more information,

Alexandria’s
Ragtime Band, TWU’s jazz ensemble specializing in ragtime
and Dixieland idioms of the late 19th and early 20th century
American jazz, will be joined by dancers from the TWU International
Folk Dance Company. Concertgoers will have the opportunity
to join in swing dancing lessons led by Gladys Keeton, TWU
associate professor of dance.
Those attending
the concert also are invited to view “At Peace with
Solitude,” an art exhibit by TWU master’s student
Cristen Humphries, on display in the Underground Exhibit Hall.
