DENTON — Thirty-three
students and two professors from Mukogawa Women’s University
in Japan will spend two weeks at Texas Woman’s University,
beginning Feb. 27, learning English and absorbing American culture
as part of the Living America Program.
During their stay, the
students will spend their mornings in class and their afternoons
practicing English with tutors. The students also will visit churches,
shop at Stonebriar Mall in Frisco and the Galleria in Dallas, visit
the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth and spend time with American
families during their stay.
“The Living America
Program at TWU has been popular with Japanese students for 20 years,”
said Dr. Hugh Burns, chair of the TWU Department of English, Speech
and Foreign Languages. “It’s always a pleasure to host
them.”
After leaving Denton
the students will visit Disney World in Orlando, Fla., before returning
home.
