TWU’s Martin named Fellow of the Society of American Archivists
9/25/07
DENTON — Dr. Robert Martin, professor and Lillian Bradshaw Endowed Chair in the Texas Woman’s University School of Library and Information Studies, recently was named a Fellow of the Society of American Archivists. This is highest individual recognition given by the SAA.
“It is extremely gratifying to receive recognition of this kind from one’s peers, especially colleagues with whom I have been associated for many years,” Dr. Martin said. “I am deeply honored to be included among the distinguished Fellows of the Society.”
Dr. Martin was honored for his extraordinary contributions to the archival profession over a period of many years. Fellows are elected by a select committee comprising the five immediate past presidents of SAA and three Fellows selected by SAA’s governing council.
Dr. Martin has been an active member of the SAA since 1977. He was honored in 2005 with its Council Exemplary Service Award.
