TWU Library presents ‘Movie Lover’ book talk with
author Veva Vonler

DENTON —
Author and TWU adjunct professor Dr. Veva Vonler will offer
perspective on how movies reflect the diverse landscape of
Texas when she presents “The Movie Lover’s Tour
of Texas: Reel-Life Rambles” on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at
Texas Woman’s University.
The lecture will
begin at 2:30 p.m. in room 101 at the Blagg-Huey Library,
located near Administration Drive on TWU’s Denton campus.
Admission is free and the event is open to the public. A reception,
book sale and book signing will follow the lecture. For more

Dr. Vonler is a
native Texan and a lifelong movie fan. She earned her Ph.D.
in English at the University of North Texas and has taught
English in secondary schools, community colleges and universities.
She has written for academic and popular publications such
as The New Rambler and Westward Magazine and has co-authored
a composition/literature textbook published by Harcourt Brace.
Her book, “The Movie Lover’s Tour of Texas: Reel-Life
Rambles,” was published in August 2005.
Dr. Vonler served
as the associate dean for graduate studies at TWU for nearly
20 years and currently is the vice president for special projects
at North Texas Community College Consortium and an adjunct
professor of English at TWU.
